All products and stuffs are made with the love of grandmothers’ hands in Bishkek, Moskovskij district of Chui and Batken oblasts. Help our grandmothers celebrate New Year in a good mood !!!
The crucial point is that by buying from the grandmothers at this fair, you will contribute to charity and help to establish sustainability for women in difficult life situations. For many seniors, this is one of the few opportunities to slightly improve their financial well-being while doing handicraft and socializing contributes to their active longevity. And it is amazing how much soul, warmth, love and care the grandmothers put into every little thing they craft themselves! Our grandmothers make souvenirs from felt, weave carpets in the “Taar“ style, and the knoted carpets, produce souveniors and items in the “Kurak“ style (a dowry for girls), make paintings and it should be noted that for their products they only use natural wool (sheep, camel) and materials. “Babushka Adoption Foundation“ was founded 20 years ago with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and was officially registered with the Ministry of Justice in 2000. Its mission is to assist and help improve the lives of older people by providing ocial and financial support and promoting their interests on the national level.
Babushka Adoption is one of the aknowledged organizations of Kyrgyz civil society that makes a significant contribution to poverty eradication among older people.
The target group of Babushka Adoption Foundation are elderly people who find themselves in difficult living conditions, receiving low pensions and do not have close relatives who could take care of them. The BA Foundation has established several projects for / and together with the elderly to improve the lives of pensioners at the local and the regional level. Direct recipients of support are about 1000 people. At the national level, the Fund protects the rights of all senior citizens, as well as the rights of other vulnerable groups.
