"Babushka Adoption Foundation" aims to give hope and restore the dignity of older people. The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the recent political turmoil particularly negatively affected them.
The transition to independence was a difficult period, and as in many post-Soviet countries, Kyrgyzstan's economy had been in crisis. Basic social services provision and pension systems have become a big question. Kyrgyz citizens who worked hard all their lives for the good of the country came face to face faced with the fact that there is no guarantee of getting a decent pension.
The pension wasn't increasing as the cost of living was growing. Often the pension was lingered. At the same time, many groun up citizens have migrated in search of work, leaving their elderly permanently or without means of survival.
The life of the elderly has become much more difficult. 57% of older people receive pensions below the republic average of 4600 kyrgyz som. This money is hardly enough for food, after paying taxes and purchasing medications.
With "Babushka Adoption Foundation" you can provide financial, moral and social support to the most needy elderly people.
We will be very happy and grateful to you, if today you will change the life of an elderly person by making a donation or by sharing the information about our activities!
